KITCHEN APPRECIATION FEE

 We’ve changed our business model and are here to clarify why. 

At Safta, we aim to create a space that is focused on furthering mutual respect, and professional and personal fulfillment. We are grateful for our teams who show up everyday to cook, serve, and be happy. By doing so, we are confident our team, both culinary and service, have created a community that fosters a comfortable environment for our team and guests.  

For a long time in our industry, a wage disparity has existed between the service and kitchen teams. As a step to minimizing the wage gap, we are adding a 4% “kitchen appreciation fee” to your bill. Cooks and dishwashers are historically non tipped employees and do not benefit from the gratuities our guests so generously add to their final check. 

100% of Kitchen Appreciation Fee will be distributed among our cooks and dishwashers. We pride ourselves on paying our teams competitive base wages, but we want to do more. Your additional contribution to support them directly is a crucial step in making a change to our industry. 

We appreciate you stepping outside of the norm and supporting Safta and our team as we take a new approach to providing a higher livable wage to those who have shared their craft with us.
